Connecting
In order to connect to our IRC channel, you have two options:
- Connect using an installed IRC client.
- Connect using our web-based client.
Using an installed IRC client
You will need to specify irc.blitzed.org as the server to connect to and #dorset as the channel to join. This URL may do that for you: irc://irc.blitzed.org:6667/dorset You are free to choose a nickname of your choice so long as it does not conflict with one already in use. A few popular IRC clients are ksirc (KDE) and XChat.
Using our web-based client
You can connect to our channel without installing any software on your PC by using this web-based client.
Pasting
Any bits of text longer than a line or two should be put up on our pastebin. Attempting to paste lots of text onto the #dorset channel will probably get you kicked off it temporarily by the FarmerTux bot.
Other Channels
Whilst connected to the Blitzed IRC network, there are various other channels which may be of interest:
- #linux - The home of Linux in the UK.
- #hants - Hampshire LUG (the neighbours).
- #debian - Debian Linux related questions.
- #gentoo - Gentoo Linux related questions.
- #ubuntu - Ubuntu Linux related questions.
- #blitzed - Blitzed IRC help.
