As with most other Linux user groups, Dorset has its own mailing list. By subscribing to the list you are able to ask your questions to all the other subscribed users. And of course help out others where possible.

The Dorset LUG has a Mailman mailing list. You can subscribe / unsubscribe here. Please do NOT send emails in HTML format to this list, they will be discarded.

Our old style mailing list has been converted to html and archived.

• When starting a new subject, start a new e-mail. Do not reply to an existing thread with your new subject.
• Top posting is evil. Quote a section of the message you are replying to and reply accordingly, below the text.
• Do not reply to the Digest e-mail. You'll be replying to something outside of the subject thread.
• Send messages in plain text. HTML e-mails are not accepted.
• Whenever possible avoid attaching files to e-mails. Upload it and post the link.
• Give as much information as possible when asking for help. Simply saying it doesn't work will get you nowhere.
• Use descriptive subject lines. 'Help' isn't too useful, and makes searches of the list a pain.
